Just pulled the stock 4bbl intake off and was expecting to see a valley pan gasket. There wasn't one, there was a heat shield riveted to the intake which I have already transfered to the new intake. This is a 78 Cherokee 360 4bbl. Were all these trucks equipped with these and if so what is the best install sequence for the gaskets i.e.. Should there be a gasket then valley pan then gasket or what??By the way I'm installing a Performer intake and holley 4160 for now.

Just the valley pan gasket will do. Also don't bother using the two rubber end pieces as they will leak; instead, use healthy beads of RTV sealant and let it set a bit before you put the intake in place.
