i've got a pretty bit hole in the rear floorboard right over the gas tank. its about 1.5 feet long and 1 foot wide. i tried shaping some sheet metal to go over it like i did on all the other holes that were smaller. but it would bend when stepped on bc it was so wide. should i go with fiberglass or thicker sheet metal?? thanks

Get a strip of metal like 2 feet long, 2 inches wide and like 1/8 inch thick and attach it across the hole. It shouldn't bend at all. Then attach your sheet metal to the good metal left on the floorboards and the metal strip in the middle. That should be strong enought to hold up anybody.

If you slap a bunch of 'glas and POR 15 on whatever junk you have, that'll usually make a strong, although ghetto looking, floor repair.

I have a '91 Grand Wag.
The body is in excellent shape but the floor boards are not. There are several holes from rust. My question is can I use the same method to repair the holes as you gave the other fsj owner for his(or hers) truck?
Thanks, Evan
