My Wag had 225/75/r15 on all four corners from the PO, but the spare was a 235/75/r15. I dont know which of those is stock though . The 235/75/r15s Wrangler Radials I have now do me pretty good off road and on road.

10.00-15's where the most common size on wide track Cherokee's. They are equivelent to 31x10 tires.
H78-15's where also used. They are equivlent to 225/75R-15's.

I took a set of 225x75r15's off an 84 grand wagoneer. They were futuras so definately not the factory tires, but the size looked about right. They definately looked a bit goofy on my J-10 tho.

A wide track takes 31's or '32s.
I run 33 x 12.5's.
Ae you asking the closest tire size or the closest tread pattern for stock?

I have 31.0X12.5 R15 Firestone Destination M/T's on mine, super happy with them. I have a stock WT I really think I could go to a 32 easy. I dont have and spring sag though. That could be an issue if you have sag.

get stop watchand get on the freeway every mile marker is one mile, 1 min between then and you are doing 60 miles an hour, or at night look at a car next to you an read his speedo like i do.

Only way to really tell for sure is to look for an owners manual, or your door plate. My 84 had 225/75/15 for stock, and the 85 had 235/75/15 for stock.

If you can get a handheld GPS unit, you can get your speed from that and adjust from there. You'll find the faster you go the farther off your speedo will be.

The stock tire size was a bias ply Goodyear Tracker AT 31x10.50 for the widetrack Chief. The Narrow track ran an H78x15. I don't know what those convert to in metric sizes. There are calculators on line. The 31x10.50 is still an easy to fine tire size.
