I know it is not a SJ, but pics of a Jeep in mud are always fun...

BTW.. Just so you get a good idea of how stuck I was, you need to note that I am lifted about 9"s, running 37"s, and locked front and rear...

ALSO, I know it will come up, so I will go ahead and say, this is on private property owned by my family.... I would tread a bit more lightly otherwise...

Some poser pics first.. I should have stood in the pic, for relationship, but I could have probably stood under the high side of the bumper in here. I am 5' 8"...

For the record, this was my 4th or 5th pass throught this spot before I finally stuck it.. We had to get the 12.5k dozer to get me out.

Did you have trouble spinning the tires when you got stuck?

No, I am up in Washington for a while again... Evertime I think I am done with the Air Force, they bring me back. I may be stuck here another year... Again...

The right front seemed to go in and out... Which of course, is the one that I really needed to spin in this situation. I suspect that the hub is going (or has gone) bad. It feels loose when I wiggle it, but the allen heads are tight. The other 3 spun the entire time, those tire just dont seem to clean very well unless they are touching a rock or something.

They are in my sig.. Anything else specific, just ask..

Yeah, I am not impressed with MTR's at all... They have serious cleaning issues

MT/R's arent mud tires, so its not surprising they do poorly in mud (MT/R stands for Maximum Traction/Reinforced). In relation to your tire thread, you are going to want a real mud tire for that stuff. TSL's, Boggers, etc. Although you will need quite a bit more power to keep them spinning.

For your hub, if its a standard locking hub, they either lock, or dont. They wont go in and out on their own. And you will know it when they blow. Chance are you broke the welds in the dif.

I figured that, but according to my spotter, it did spin about half the time. Eitherway, I have a new set of Warn premiums to throw on, and since both my vent lines got sucked off in this mud, both diff covers are comming off before I wheel it again.
