I have a 360 that came from late 70's (1979 the seller thought) model J series pickup. I heard it run. Other than hearing it run, I do not know anything else about the history of the engine, like how many miles, etc...

I plan on swapping out my very dead 258 I6 in my '82 Wagoneer Limited. I am purchasing the the rad and motor mount from the pickup.

Questions:

1.) The 360 have a manual flywheel and I need an automatic flexplate in order to bolt up to my existing TF727. I was thinking of getting a flexplate from TCI.
Does anyone else have any other thoughts, ideas, comments?

2.) My rebuilding plans for this 360 includes a Edelbrock Performer Intake and a Edelbrock Performer Carb #1406.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a HEI style distributor? CAM for a daily driver (Mom Bus),
Oil pump? Fuel pump? Water pump?

3.) Modification?? I read something about an oiling mod in the intake valley? What are the details about this? What of mods do I need to
make to this 360?

4.) Last..the actual swap itself. What tips, tricks and other secrets do I need to know about swapping out the 258 for the 360?
Will the motor mounts from the J truck be easy to install? Drilling or welding required?
What about the wiring? Linkage for the carb? Trans kickdown? If I use the stock J truck exhaust manifolds, what exhaust pipes will I need to use? Custom fab?

Thanx in advance for your help!
