I don't know what we did (well, kinda I do but that's a true soap opera story I don't want to get into right now) but I guess Bryan and I have pissed someone off, because we've had terrible luck with the daily drivers lately. On a happy note, we got the Exploder back today and it seems to be doing well. Of course this is after 2 or 3 weeks of wrenching and stuff and plenty of $$$ at the shop. My car thinks it's a FSJ because it's decided it doesn't need to keep any oil in it.... it's back at the shop for a new oil leak after we fixed the rear main seal last week. If it's a consolation, it really was a rear main leak and now it has a whole new oil leak problem somewhat unrelated. Bryan thinks it's the oil pressure sending unit. Stupid 'smart' cars, all that extra crap is just more to break! Another reason the Exploder with manual everything was a draw. Less to break!! Also while dealing with my car, which got spontaneously parked at a motel parking lot after smoking and losing all oil pressure, we got to deal with 10 cop cars and a hostage situation with gunshot victims, on the lazy little access road we always take to get from our house to my work. In our nice little college town that is definitely not an everyday occurrence. I've had just about all the excitement I ever want out of Tuesday night and I'm going to bed. If anybody has some karma repair advice, that would be great since apparently we need it!!! BUT vacation in less than 2 weeks!!! Not sure whether to be happy or frightened though....

I know how you feel.. :(
I'm suppose to leave in 14 days  myself. Decided to pay off Mom instead of getting the 401 rebuilt. The MPFI finally arrived but now all too late. So I was sitting on some funds to still have a great time for 2 or most likely 3 weeks then all of a sudden I got slapped with a $3000 hit from a bill collector, talk about being blind sided. I now hate my tenants to no end. Overtime at work is at least unlimited right now , so instead of fixing my J20 I'm making $$$ for a lawyer. No rain here in the last 2 months and all my new landscaping is turning to dust. Everday something new pops up to try and stop me from being happy.
My only saving grace is come Hell or high water in 2 weeks...........
I'M OUT OF HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drivin: :fsj:

Burning sage & used QT fluid/gas mix in an old FSJ hubcap while dancing around a bonfire usually works for us.

Hang in there y'all, life is a bumpy ride sometimes.

Here is to wishing everyone a fun & safe trip to the San Juan Mountains. :alc:

As long as everyone gets here, thats all that matters.

Can always siphon gas from the rich FJ drivers and steal their bratwurst and Dom Perignon.

My electronic fuel pump gave out yesterday (turned out to be a bad wire).

And yes Ralph, you are right... :)

My Air Pump froze last thursday.

I look at it as the jeep showing me what needs to be fixed before I take it on a long road trip, pulling a trailer and then up to the mountains and away from parts stores.

Oops I kinda meant to post this in off-topic. But I guess it relates to the Ouray trip too. Sorry to hear you guys are having issues too! I'm just thinking, one of these days coming up has got to be really boring, nothing will happen, and it will be the greatest day! Good luck to all of us.

just constantly think good thoughts,
cross your legs, close your eyes, hold hands palm side up to your side
and chant......
ooohhhhmmmmmmm......oooohhhhhhmmmmm

if that don't work, down a fifth of ta-kill-ya.

I completely understand - last weekend my thermostat housing broke and power steering pump decided not to work. Hopefully the parts will come in and I can get it back together this weekend so I'll at least have a chance to test it out before heading through the Mojave desert. . .

Well knock on wood so far everything is looking good Bart says Crom will be up for the run, I am only 3.5 hours away from Ouray, so I'll be able to work that Tuesday and still make it in time for the first runs. (The rest of this message has been deleted as I do not want to tempt the fates that much, all thoughts of what I wrote are being erased at this time also)
