I am in Durango Co. for my sisters wedding and she rented a limo for her and her bridesmaids for the day, when the limo showes up it is a '89 stretched GW. They almost didn't get to leave because I wouldn't get out of it. So cool, has any one else seen one?
Got the pictures back, here is the limo my sister rented for the wedding, man I love this GW.

The folks in Durango still take pretty good care of them, too. I know one sitting in the yard behind Pro-Tow in Montrose that's in fairly good shape, new engine - I took the wheels and new tires from it a year ago.

Ethan......NO
If you do bring it home at least it's big enough you can live in it.
Get my drift.

Like I said, it's at Pro-Tow in Montrose, CO. Owner's name is Preston McEachern. Tell him Ralph referred you.
The story behind the Wag limo is that it belonged to Mountain Limo, a shuttle service between Telluride and Montrose. Darcy, the owner of that business, used to be my client, as well. She refused to pay for the new engine, and so the Wagoneer sits. For a tad over 3 years now.
It's in decent shape. The interior is burgundy. They made the back seat area by literally using two Wagoneer rear seats. It needs new tires & wheels, however, 'cause I bought the gold-spoked ones that were on it to put on a J10 ("Bubba") I bought last year from Lee Thomas.
I don't know if Preston would take $500 for it. I think the bill for the engine was a bit more than that, and I'm sure he's been holding out in order to get his investment back.

A Grand Wagoneer Stretch Limo - would that be an FSJXXL?
And just today Nothing in Common was on TV. Sela Ward cruises around in a Grand Waggy Limo while Tom Hanks drives a CJ7 Laredo.

I see the ones in Durango all the time, because I live here :D (close by at least)
The owner is a pretty nice guy. He's hoping to convert them all to MPFI. I tried explaining the idea of installing CS130 alternators in all of them, because he goes through about 3 alty's a year in each wag (and pays out the rump for work on them). Far as I can recall, he has two burgandy ones, and one of the tan ones from that montrose company.

Steve, there is still one in Denver. Actually they were all made by Jerry Brown Auto in Denver. I missed buying it for $5,000 by literally 15 minutes.

Yeah, I know someone that owns one. He drives it to all the desert races. We load up the crew and he drops us at contingency or the driver's meetings.

I sure do hope they have electric pumps. I can only imagine paying that kinda tab for a limo only to have it vapor lock. Sweet rides tho!

That almost makes we want to get married just so I can have a stretch waggy... my new father-in-law would love it. (Dodge guy that never liked jeeps b/c the only Jeep he bought was a J-10 that leaked oil, even more hatred when i brought a mud caked xj with it's share of problems)

Ethan if you buy this, I'd be happy to drive it up to you. Just swing me a busticket home and pay me back for the gas.
I have the time :)
