Been reading some of the install manuals on different tranny coolers.
Some say to put it in-line with the current lines running into the radiator. Some don't mention it at all.
I want to replace my radiator as well, but need to find out if I still need to get a radiator with the tranny line connections or can I get an alum radiator (w/o connections) and add a t-cooler to the front?

Put it in series after the radiator cooler. If you get a different radiator w/o a trans. cooler then you will need a seperate trans.cooler. As someone else said "the bigger the better".

I've have heard that you should run to the external cooler first then to the internal radiator cooler. I think the logic was that the fluid works best when its between certain temps, neither too warm nor too cold.
anyway heres my writup.

I put an alum race radiator in my GW. Then installed a factory Jeep tranny cooler in front of it. I actually have enought room between tranny cooler and radiator to stuff and electric fan if needed.

Thanks CA,
AMX - How much cooler (compared to stock) did your GW run after the alum radiator?
