The interior reminds me of Kitt on Knight Rider!

Some things I don't understand, like why someone (or a magazine) would spend a lot of money on a project FSJ (not to mention a Chevy motor swap), wheels, tires, paint, etc., and then put in a bunch of aftermarket gauges in a custom panel, AND NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE A LABEL-MAKER TO LABEL SAID GAUGES? I guess it goes along with the "I can't figger out dis here funny motor wit duh dizzy at duh front, so's I'ma gonna put a three-fitty in it." "I can't figger out dis here label-maker, but I gots a Sharpie." :D
Also, what's with that huge step on the side for those near-stock size tires? Was the magazine editor a midget or something? They stick out like a sore thumb.
The rest looks pretty nice, though.

That color makes me want to puke
the steps and wheels/tires gotta go, and a new K&N filter would go along way to make a cleaner engine shot
The Recaro seats are *****in'!

Michael and Gary say "it's awesome!!!"

I say it's hideous and should be cut up. I don't care what magazine built it, why would you bastardize the interior like that? The sharpie labeling is a nice touch as is the oddly small non-matching fuel gauge.:sawzall:

oddly small non-matching fuel gauge.
That is 2 non-matching fuel gauges.
I like it. I would daily that.
on a good note, I kinda like the little hood air inlets, if they are functional.

The turbo boost gauge, right next to the vacuum-gauge, is a nice touch on a naturally-aspirated motor... :)

If you go out to the dealer's site via their link on the ebay listing you can see the selling price they have it posted for....
you can have this cherry for a paltry $14,900!
Hope it comes with a magic money tree growing out of that glovebox...looks like it has everything else in there.

Once you get past the cheesy dash and look at the Chevy power plant, you gotta wonder why the goofy motor because I bought a 450hp 401 off the guy that writes that magazine. He must have done this Cherokee a few years ago before he brained up because he's done some nice stuff since then.

that dash is hideous..
The whole rig is hideous.
Maybe the gauge sponsor backed out at the last minute and they sent a flunky down to Autozone...
"Aw crap!...here's a $100 go get a chit load of whatever gauges you can...we've got 23 holes to fill in!"

I like how there are things listed as options/add-ons that aren't on the truck. (Custom molded running boards comes to mind)

You could buy both, use the "cherokee" to pull the Duster to the drag races! Hmmmm, how hideous can we make the car trailer? Also, why does the Duster have a "DODGE" plate on the bumper?

He just said it was for Off-Road magazine. He may have started the project hoping to get it in the magazine. It may not have been a project by the magazine.

 I used to have the red light in my grill, and to honest I have considered re-installing one, but I sure as heck wouldn't even think about putting those crappin' gauges everywhere, but I do have a digital set from BJ's sitting on the work-table :D

I LOVE the hood scoops, even if they are nowhere near the air filter. I've been thinking about ways to get some cool air into the engine compartment, but may just try the old washers on the hinges trick.
The $3000 or so the bidding is at now doesn't seem too bad for such a straight body and a running engine. But $14,000?!?!? :smoking crack:
As far as the rear window not opening from outside, mine doesn't right now anyway, so what's the difference? :p :D
I noticed the boost gauge, too. If it needed that gauge, you would think they would have mentioned that. Great find, Kenny. I needed a chuckle today.
