Well...driving home last week I hit a large deer with my Cherokee. Luckily it has a bush bar and a good lift on her.If I had been in a car or anything lower it would have probally come through the window. I hit it so hard we hardly did anything to it when we gutted the SOB. I can't wait for the Bambi burgers! I basically need a left fender, flare, turn signal and bumper to repair it. I have located everthing except a fender My question is...I have a wide track '82 Cherokee, are the fenders the same on all other fullsize Jeeps.Did Jeep just add the flares? or are they cut out differently?I'm going junkyard hunting this weekend and would appreciate any info. Thanks in advance!

You did better than i did on my hunting trip!
The fenders are not the same. You can put a NT fender on but you wil have to cut it a ways to get the flare to fit. So you can get any fender but will have to do some work to get it right. Better getting a wide track fender.
lol. great story. glad you're ok, and have some dinner... [yum]. anyway FSJ's used two different bumpers, a 1 piece and a 3 peice. pretty sure they all bolt up, just a different look. the year it changed to the 1p was 1979.

I read this on another 4x4 forum:
"What I'm looking for is a bumper I can strap a deer or wench on and not have to worry about it dragging."
my friend hit one on his way back from 6 flags in his rabbit, i asked if it was dead he says "of course the **** thing was dead, i made sure it was, f'in thing messed up my car!" he needed a new grill, bumper, lights hood....
