Getting frustrated!!! Since I have never done this before, could someone please tell me how to take out the front drive shaft? I got the front down, it has the u bolts on the u joint but the back only has those locking spring things on all 4 points on the joint. OR>>> do I have to ubolt it from the back of the joint closest to the T case?

There are 4 bolts through a flange at the Tcase front output shaft. The crossmember is a bit of an obstacle but once you find the bolts you will be ok.

i found out that if u can, take off the trans cover that is on the floor inside the truck, and go down from there. u can get better leverage and more room to turn the bolt if u have a shorty wrench.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. Didn't know if I was supposed to be looking for bolts, nuts, or if those spring-e clamps, (whatever you call those things) were the key.
I'll go give it another look.

Those E-springs retain the U-joints in the 'H' yoke of the CV joint... those are removed when replacing the U-joints....
