MSD placement

Finally getting aound to put in my 6A after the TFI upgrade.Looks like the CD box will fit on the fender well next to the battery. Is this the best location ? I,ll be wiring direcly to the distributor to eliminate the PINA duraspark module. Your experience please.

That should be fine. I mounted it on the right side, which has to relocate one of the horn unit. http://photos.yahoo.com/jeep80me

That's where I mounted mine, though I had to fabricate a mounting bracket for the rear of the box, as the wheelwell starts curving down backwards. I used some well-nuts (like used on the roof-rack) for some vibration-isolation as well.

I also used the Duraspark adapter to bypass the stock ignition box, yet make it possible to plug back in the stock system if the MSD should fail.

I put mine on the passenger fender well also about 4-5 inches back from the front, and about an inch in from the fender. No bracket needed and clears the hood just fine.

That's where i put mine, too. Everything cleared just fine, and that was a concern, because of the rubber shock spacers the 6AL comes with.
