Lindel, I think you were right. The pressure valve was lodged all the way up. I could'nt get it out. I eventually had to cut the housing up to get it out. Even after cutting the tube in half, it didnt want to move up and down. Almost like the walls shrunk or that piece expanded. I remember taking the old one out, it was snug, but still moved freely. So the three times it blew the oil gasket out, eespecially on the first start up, it starved those lifters and cam of oil. Casue the oil pressure was fine, then set the pedal to hold at 2000rpms. by the time I got out, it had oil everywhere. So it could have ran for 30 seconds with no oil. The second time it did this was at the muffler place, no telling how long he let it run b4 noticing it.

That's basically what happened to mine, only it wasn't the seal that blew, it was the filter body (Fram, guess what I won't buy any more of).

The end result is the same, only I don't think I ruined the cam. I'll find out soon, when I get the new lifters.

How about I wish us both good luck! ;)

take note of billyrb's picture. there was a long thread on that when I did my timing set, and guess what... no oil hole ! I had to clear mine out with a drill.

Amen! This should come as a guide to anyone buying or working on a FSJ. Those gear companies are notorious for casting like this, and I hate to say it, but many engine builders wouldn't know to look for this problem. Causes premature failure in many motors.
