Well after blowing up the motor back in Jan I finally have my jeep back on the road! What started out as simple motor swap to a 401 out of a travelall ended with a complete overhaul of the old girl. I rebuilt the 401 put a summit cam in and topped it off with a edelbrock carb and intake and then added headers. And when I finally finished that I decided to swap in 727, 208 combo with matching amc 20 and drivers side drop 44 front and do a sprig over. Then since i had done so much work I decide to paint it hammerd silver and black and herculine the interior and throw some new carpet in. Now all I need to completley finish is to weld up a new rear bumper, get some bigger tires and get some different seats because those factory seats are very uncomfortable. How do you guys stand those lowback, leanback seats!

Sounds great, and as you say, if you're doing all that work, why not finish it up?

I actually love those low back bucket seats, they are comfy to me, and leave lots of room in the cab.

It looks good in silver. The body looks really good. I would have expected rust to be a problem where you live. Do they salt the roads? Thanks for the pictures.

I also didn't like the low back seats. After driving cars with high back seats I felt like my neck would snap off if rear-ended. So a trip to the pull it yourself yard and found some very nice seats from a Nissan Sentra. A very easy install however if your are over 6" tall may be a bit tight for head room. But drivers seat power and all the adjustments seats cost me $25. If you are interested in the install PM me and I will sent you Pics.

No salt on the roads up here, it woulden't do anything a -60! There was only one rust spot the size of my fist in rear quater panel, so I cut it out and welded in new steel before I painted it. Hopefully sometime this week I can go scout out the junkyards for some seats.
