. . . for not making this ECI?

I didn't get all my projects done on my Jeep.
Nobodies Jeep is EVER finished. Bring what you've got. If it's not up to the
tougher trails, keep it on the easier ones. Do a ride along on the harder
ones. Jeep not running at all - bring another 4WD or heck, bring the
family mini-van and do ride alongs. There are always empty seats.

I have other obligations and can't stay the whole time.
Come for one day. You'll still have a great time. It is almost impossible
to come to this event, even for a short time, and not meet some very
cool people, or learn something, or have a good time, or all of the above.

Gas is too expensive right now.
Yes gas is expensive. Hey, I drive from Tennessee and it's
well worth the trip.

My point is that this event is much more than wheeling your rig on
some great trails. It's about the people, the fun, the stories, and
getting to see so many FSJ's all in one place.
You know you want to come and you KNOW your Jeep wants to.
Don't let this once a year event dedicated to the love, preservation, and
unbeliveably fun wheeling Full Size Jeep happen without you.

No excuses.

I may still come, but the jeep is not going to make it. Got too many unfinished tasks and have not even road tested it yet. No point trailering it down just to pay more in fuel and not wheel it. I hate doing half-assed work just to make a deadline....too many sleepless nights lately. I'll be much happier in the long run if I don't cut corners. Never have....never will.

Steve - glad to hear you're coming.
Eric - Can you find a good "stopping place"? I always lose when I try to do something halfway. Some people can get by with it - I can't. The main thing is to bring yourself. Plenty of seats to ride in, plenty of good folks to visit with.

Been there. Done that. Making it for the sake of making SUX! It never works out.

Hope you come anyway. Godd luck.

Besides...a/c is nice to have this time of year.

I hear ya, the real problem is I have zero road miles and it does not "feel" right to bring it to the trail yet. I have a slew of misc other stuff thats not finished including retractable three point seat belts for the back seat so my son's booster seat, no hood, on and on. I could burn this week on vacation and probly get it done, but then I would be exhausted for the trip. I'm too old to let my ego get the better of me. I'd rather be smart and get to the trail in a few weeks. Might bring the wife's 4Runner to the ECI, we'll see. I have already succumbed to defeat for this year. I feel better with less stress, so anyway my excuse.

That reminds me, I have to charge the A/C on The Compost Heep, they are calling for temps in the mid 90's. I am bringing The War Buggy as a staic display only because I live so close, I just did not get it finished. I need to get The War Wagon inspected and I will be good to go. Sorry guys I will not be bringing my shop this year but I will have some tools on hand. If anyone breaks real bad we could just tow it to my house to make the repairs.
