Check out http://jubileejeeps.org/327/index.htm and go to bottom of page and look for the logo. That's likely what the Rambler engine was painted for Full Size Jeep apps. There is all kinds of interesting and useful info on that site. Enjoy!

It's some sort of beige, yellow, or tan. My 230 Tornado is the same color.

Good question that I do not have firm answer on. I have seen them a light yellow color as well as gold. I think the gold ones were for the Super Wagoneers but not positive on that. In the AMC cars they were red and the 287 was greenish blue.

Is this the color your're talking about.

The late 65(pre-Super year) dealer brochure I have Flint is similar to the one below that Men in Black posted. Looking at the 327 it's definitely a gold color.

Yes it is, but the Tornado is a little more beige. Actually, I have a spare Tornado that is almost a Caterpiller yellow. The J200 one is a light tan, almost like a desert fatigue tan. don't know which is stock, but the tan one doesn' tlook like it was ever messed with.

Maybe after 40 years, they just fade away to yellow? Most the ones I have seen in recent years looked like the paint was either missing or covered in gunk or both.
Yeah in the 65 brochure pic it's gold gold not any variation of a yellow or a beige.

Mine has been covered mostly with oil and gunk since I got it. I just scraped some gunk away just under the fuel pump and it has remnants of red paint. Most of the paint has been replaced by rust. The valve covers still have the original decals and they have what appears to be silver paint. The stock air cleaner is also red.
*Edit*
Come to think of it, let me check in the daylight. I'm sure the sodium yard light is giving me false readings.

The red was actually a rust color. There is a hint of some deep yellow on the damper pulley. I guess it may be the gold color. Nothing is on the block. Either way, if there was gold on there, it disappeared after 40 years.
