Is the pin centered on front 4" lift springs, or is it closer to one end than the other? Does this vary in different years?

It does vary through the years. I think the front springs of wags/cheros are center. and the rear box mount is closer to the front then the rear.

I spose i could go measure if need be. I have a post mount rig and a box mount to check if need be.

... You could have ask that on the N4W. :D
The centering pin in the front springs on my 76 401 Wagoneer are one inch to the rear from center so if you put the springs in backwards the wheel-base will be two inches longer. Been there, and had it done to me. :D

Good Luck.. http://www.boylover.net/ubb/graemlins/cool_shades.gifand CUL on N4W.. Don S..

..Yeah, it drove kinda funny and the 31s were barely rubbing the front fender cut-outs. The shocks were also crooked.
.. I had the mains rearched and AAL installed. The springman noticed the inch off center and could have walked up to the office and asked me which way it went but he just quessed at it. :D

Thanks guys.

So I'd assume that if I buy lift springs, they have to be year specific, correct?

What are the softest 4" lift springs out there?

BTW, what happened to the board yesterday? I couldn't get to the site!

Skyjacker... hands down.... my opinion... most expensive too... I have them....

I paid $1208 for 4 springs, 4 shocks, 4" DPA and stabilizer in Feb 98
