can't get my wheel off?

I haven't driven my 78 Wag for months so I had 2 flat tires. With no compressor I had to take them off to air up at the gas station. The problem is that I can't get the front wheel off. All of the lugs are off, but I can't pull/pry the wheel off. Anyone have this problem. I'm sure its stupid, but I don't want to break or bend anything so I thought that I'd ask here first, before I start beating on it.

Make sure its on good stands or good lift... and hit it hard! :D Just not too hard.. smile.gif

Aluminum Wheels I bet. Yup lots of fun. I spray them with PB Blaster, around the center hub and behind the wheel itself, spray into each stud hole as well.

I've had the same problem before- I even took it to Firestone and they couldn't get it off! So... I jacked it up with the wheel off the ground a tad, got a sledge hammer, and gave it a slight whack on the bottom tire (from the back of the tire, I had the steering turned to get the right angle)- and the aluminum rim came right off like there was no problem.

Then again I have beaten them off so as there was nothing left of the rim!!! :eek: :rolleyes: :D LOL Good Luck
