Just got home last night with the new shoes for beast, and with a little wedging, they "fit". Now, on my 86 GW, I have a 4" lift block in the rear, no lift up front, and have 32"BFG's shoved in there. Big question is, do I just trim a little:sawzall: or should I go for the lift on the front?:fsj:

Just to add in, I picked up a set of random Skyjacker springs for nothin, and am gonna see how they want to fit, as they seem to be lift springs, measure about 49" uncompressed, and are 2.5" wide. Seems like it may fit, but we will see! Worst comes to worse, I will just resell and find some waggy springs!

If your fenders are already beat up then cut them up. If they're clean, I wouldn't cut them because they're getting harder to find in good condition. I would take your "new" springs and combine them with the main spring already on the truck to lift it. It's cheaper and faster than anything but a sawzall.

Hmmmm...hadn't thought of combining the packs...good idea! I am gonna mock up the new springs first, and see if they are an "easy" swap before pulling them apart, but I think that will be a good answer if I have any problems. I will post picks asap, and will also run the numbers on the springs, just so we know what I am working with!

Well, as of yesterday, I "took care" of my tire fitment issues :alc: + :sawzall: =:drivin: . However, I am still sitting pretty uneven with the 4" blocks in the back, so I think I will still mess with the Chevy springs and see what I can make happen. Now, I just need to get the old girl cleaned up, painted, re-interiored, and get the A/C runnin! As for now though, she is lookin might fine!
