did the 78 chero come with a factory wing
or is this aftermarket there are 6 holes
on rear roof 5 were covered by bad bondo job
didnt even take out the wellnuts

My 78 had one as well but I couldn't tell you it was stock or not. My guess is that it was not. Mine looked to be put on by the previous owner

Im waiting for a Nascar official to jump out at a redlight with a template and check my rear wing.. Hope I dont get diqualified.

I can't talk about the 78, but I know my 79 and my 81 cherry's came with them. I think they were supposed to direct air at your rear window to keep the rain off. Seems to me they only succeeded in blow-drying the dirt that landed on your rear window.

Humblest Appologies Ap90c,

Today upon very close and more thorough http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/eek.gif inspection (daylight helped too) I found four of the 5 holes that you mentioned -- fairly well hidden but certainly brings my data back in line with the rest of the evidence supporting a factory air-deflector on the '78.
