hey ive never seen this on any other vehicle except mine, i have an oil cooler, 2 lines come out just under the oil filter. whats up with this thing? i understand the principle of the tranny cooler that i have but ive never seen an oil cooler. its kinda in a bad spot where it could get banged up so if i dont need it i would like to get rid of it. any info on these things?

if you get rid of it send it my way.
it should have a therastatic valve in it so when the oil gets to a certain temp it will flow through the cooler before the motor.

what does the valve look like? i just see 2 hoses coming out directly below the oil filter

The valve should be part of the fitting. Keep the cooler and move it to a safe place (with a small electric fan :D )
