Patch up rust on both Jeeps, Hydroboost on GW, try and lift up the rear of the GW a couple inches and the front an inch. TFI, stereo, brake booster from GW, and later a 4bbl swap and headers on Chero. Also Maybe I'll spring over the Chero on 1 tons and swap in a T-18, provided I can afford to get my hands on the parts and some 38" Swampers.

drive the 82 j-10 and maybe put some nice speakers in it. and if i have the extra money 1 of the 3: a 2" bjs lift, wheels and tires, or body work / paint touch-up

sand blast and prime the decent shape short-bed on the 79 honcho. then tear it apart and store any good parts, maybe sell a few others.

swap a 360 into the 77 j-20 to get it road worthy again

combine my parents 82 j-10 and 77 j-10 into one 'nice' truck

slowly look over the entire 88 wagy and prep it for winter DD duty

I'm pretty close to being finished with the projects with the exception of routine maintenance.
I still have to swap in the rebuilt 208 and install the Freeze12 for the A/C.
Some day, I'll get the minor body work and new paint done.

Oh, it's a litany of stuff: Stainless steel brake hoses, install the new shocks, new mount gaskets and grommets everywhere (roof rack, doors, locks, mirrors), fixing the stupid crap the previous owner did (flex pipe for exhaust) and fully redoing the exhaust system.

Mostly leak prevention and trying to keep the **** thing runnin'.

For my motor swap I just have the following left this summer.
-Install the S10 tank, find way to get factory option truck bed tank to work with S10 tank or work as a reserve.
-Get wiring to work with GM harness.
-Find a long term radiation solution besides stock AMC rad.
-paint rear half of frame rails and mount rear bumper.
-Fabricate or have exhaust fabbed for truck.
-swap a 81+ J10 or J20 axle for drivers side pumpkin (going to be 2wd FSJ for a little while.)
-remove rust on floor of cab and repaint floor.
-Some sound proofing to make cab quieter.
-Numerous other things I don't know yet

thats about it.

What are you, a "Snowbird"? It's 58 degrees outside, tonight!!! Although it's supposed to be 101 by Wednesday. About time, I say. It's the first week of May and it's in the mid 70's, for God's sake! It should be over 100 everyday and in the 80's at night by now!
Anyway, it looks like my plans for the summer, on my J10, is working with the hot summer days and trying to get this **** "preformed" floormat to form to my floor! The "preformed" curves for the hump are about three inches, on both sides, beyond the curves of the hump on the J10. Is there a difference between the humps on a Waggie and a J10?

I hope to be able to take two weeks leave (vacation) and head to my folks place in Fl and part out all the jeep stuff there.
Dad has finally realized he isn't going to do anything with what he has and neither is my bro.

So I may try to build one out of all of them or I will get a Uhaul trailer and fill it with parts and make a trip back home, selling as I go.

(these are all J trucks)
There is the 69 with a chevy 350 and T350 auto.
There is the 76 with a 360, t18 and a broken frame and RUST.
There is the 66 with a 232 and T18, missing the rear end (it is in the 69) and more RUST.
there is a cab of unknown year and origin.

It has been years since I have been down there and I have no idea what shape all of this is in. It may be scrap session only.

I did the new radiator ahead of schedule(the old one died last Tuesday, new one installed on Wednesday evening) so now my summer project is to fix the rear window. I hope it is the tailgate switch! Both of the above on the wag. The J10 doesn't get much drive time these days. As for the '67, just pic a spot!!!

The main thing is to finish swapping in SS brake lines and then power bleed the brakes so I can feel ok going back on the road. Wouldn't mind going through the steering a final time to see what else I can do to tighten it up a bit more. I am hoping to get AC system installed. But... ultimately I have a to do list a mile long, and the main focus is going to be non-FSJ for awhile... Maybe I will be riding shotgun on trail runs this summer, I dunno.

From where I left off two years ago on the 88 Waggy I drove home from Miltrucks.
Reassemble the engine, and install..finish the POR-15 Treatment on the rear frame after welding a patch, install the SS hardlines for tank, brakes, install the tank, newer skid plate, weld in Garys floors that I've had for an eon now...(sighs)...
Prep and repaint the interior, Prep doors, hood, tailgate, fenders, grill support, reinstall, prep the body...repaint in cheap acrylic enamel...
Reinstall the interior...decide if I want the super waggy console in there with a manual/tilt steering wheel from a J20...or stock setup? Get a new carpet in too..

J10..
Remove the brackets off the 82 thriftside bed that don't belong on a pre-70's with metal fenders...patch, prep and paint...
Por-15 or rust-encapulate the frame, fab in the gas tank filler...and install tank..remove the old cab and install the cab I got from rent-a-cop...that is also getting prepped and repainted, and ready for z&m guage cluster, and black interior. Same prep work as the Waggy above...
Okay is this getting boring to read yet? Thats what I want done and out of the way..but these things are never done!
I'm hoping to trade my Jimmy within a month for a new Mustang...

And like HUD, I got a old Shasta Camper to fix up...
Way too much to do.........

Wish me luck.

My summer plan:

1. Get my house in Fort Worth sold
2. Get moved into a house here in or near Austin
3. Fix the vacuum leaks in Beavis and get the TBI tuned
4. Install a 4" lift on Beavis
5. Go Wheeling!
6. Get my CJ project restarted

-Sort out the TBI programming
-Drive to Ouray and back without breaking down and have a blast doin' it!!! :drivin: :fsj: :D

-Maybe fix some small stuff like the back window not working with the outside key, rear wiper, front passenger window, driver door light switch. . .
-Possibly a rear locker or limited slip
-That's all I can think of right now.

if i do end up keepin her: yank out the 360/400/q-trac, drop in the 350tbi/465/205, then wheel the piss out of her until i break something. then its axle upgrade time and spring over, and 38's. but that will probably be next year.

If the '87 stops being an attention hog with stupid repair crap...

Rewire the Gladiator. Get a steering wheel for it. Pull the Edelbrock off and put the QuadraJet on. Find badges for it.

De-wood the '87. Put the Rhino on the front along with the brush guard. Put rear shoulder belts in. Maybe put the 4bbl manifold and 4350 on it.

Well, I was planning to strip the interior floor, fix/improve a few areas that need some attention and then Durabak it in tan, add insulation to floor, side panels and roof, make real wood side panels for the back and maybe do the floor in the back out of hardwood, redo the head liner and find some fully functional heated leather seats to go in. I also intended to replace the dash with some trustworth aftermarket gauges and make it look a little classier (not a big fan of the last-edition dash setup). And a decent stereo was also on the list..

But instead, it looks like Uncle Sam has me going down to McCall for some updating and then spending another year in the sand box. Oh well, I guess I can save some money while I am gone and go bigger when I get home..
