Almost done....My Mig took a crap so I had to weld it in with stick. What a PITA! I will be spending some quality time with my grinder!

Steve,
Looks good man....I think you want some diagonal bracing at the back......here is what mine looks like, note diagonals behind the rear seat.

1 3/4 .120 wall on the tube. I will try to get a pic for you tonight. Yes the cage is tied into the sliders.
Thanks for the compliments guys!

I'm not done by a long shot. This is just how far I got in 2 days. I still have much more to do. Your cage looks good to. Like the sliders.
Could I get some info on the hinge assembly you've got for your tire carrier?

Steve,
Mine was custom fabbed by my buddy Sheldon who owns Goferit offroad in Greensboro. http://www.goferitoffroad.com/ His shop is in the same building as "Big Daddy offroad" so he builds bumpers/armor for the little jeeps and such as a sub to Big Daddy.
The key to it is the hinge IMHO. I was seriously going to buy the Rockstomper hinge until I saw the Big Daddy hinge in person at the annual truck show and swap meet our club used to do. The keeper, to secure the carrier when driving, rocks as well.
I am not done yet either, LOL...I actually have two hinges on the back. The one on the pass side is for the tire and the other (on the DS) is to mount an ammo box I have to keep straps, clevis, etc in.
So this leads me to the second key design feature. Keep the length as short as possible. If the carrier is too long two things will happen. 1. It will sag when you open it and put a lot of stress on the hinge and 2. If its as long as the truck is wide, you have to have that much more clearance in the back if you wnat to open the tailgate. This might not be an issue for your rig.

Didn't get any tonight. Family night. I will try to get some tomorrow as long as you don't make fun of my welding. I am a firm believer in function over form. Plus I got frustrated and had a few long nights.

The funny thig is that my rockers were perfectly rust and dent free. Go figure.

My rockers were not rusty either, just a little wrinkled.
Steve, Nice job. I uploaded a few more of the shots in my album including this one showing the slider supports tie into the cage out-rigger http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2967832830069564115ihTLup
I also added some shots of the interior of the Jeep without the seats that show the cage better and the rear bumper /tire carrier.
Later...

Very nice. My tie would have been more similar to yours except for the fact that I have a 2" body lift.
Are you going to be at the Invasion?

Steve,
I have a 2" body lift too. I think you just tied in a little lower and I think what you have is fine. My point was to give you something to go by when you do your frame tie-in for the cage. ICR if you are there yet.
My plan is to be there. My night job right now is Putting it back together and get it running.

I'm flattered that you would want pics of my rig. Help yourself.
I got the shoulder harness bar installed, the other B-C pillar bar at the floor installed and the top half of the X-brace for the harness bar.
Coming along nicely. I will take pics at the end of the day.
