This time for pre-AMC Gladiators. The one I tore off my '67 was hit very hard in the rear and can' t be saved. I'm getting ready to toss it with the spring cleanup, but I can't tell if it was a Kaiser option or a homemade job. Actually, it looks like OEM or dealer installed, but could have been fabricated by a shop, it has had some butchery done to it for a trailer hitch.
I'm debating whether to hold on to it so I can use it as a pattern to reproduce it (it's diamond plate) or toss it and find another original. Anybody got a good picture of one?

Guess I"ll keep it for a pattern for now. Thanks.

Yeah, that's the Townside bumper... that could be straightened too. They are pretty hard to come by, especially the ones for the Thriftside.

Fortunately, my thriftside one is in much better shape. It's a Barden Bumper too.
I thought about straightening it, but haven't decided if it's easier or better to fab a new one. Most of it is just diamond plate and I know a steel fab shop that can press the tight bends for me.

Pattern time, then see about straightening and recover some of your outlay.:)
