I'm interested in knowing how many of you out there use or have used FSJ's for all your transportation needs and what is the longest period of time you have done so, Dan.
We purchased our 2 year old '84 GW in 1986. Except for a couple of years off for good behavior it's been a daily driver ever since. Family car, '86 thorugh 96. Son's first car, '96 through '02. Used mostly for "Home Depot runs," '02 through '04. My daily driver, '04 through today.

I'll add myself to the list and tell that I have owned at least one FSJ since 1981 (74 J-10, I still have it) and drove only that till 91. For the last 6 years I have been driving only FSJ's, the last three of which is an 83 Wagoneer (258 T-18 D-20) that I did a complete restoration on. It now has 22,000 mi., has beed to 6 different states including it's home Arkansas where it hauled back a Ramsey equiped 65 J-200 for me. I plan on beating my old record with this truck.

My '78 I bought two years ago was started life in SC as a daily driver to a guy who worked only 4 miles from his home and then to the previous owner, was an around-the-town grocery getter due to his work trek being 45 miles one-way. And now to me, I've put on only 1500 miles in the last two years (one year of that being mechanically torn down). Now that it's back up and running I use it as an around-the-town vehicle. Once the axles and gears get in it'll see more trail time :)
I've been using mine for everything since I bought it a year and a half ago. The only vehicles I own are FSJ's.:drivin:

I am now an exclusive FSJ DD. My girlfriend drives a little 93 corolla to college, because that's a 100 mile RT every day. My daily driving usually entails just popping a mile over to town to drop kid off at school, post office, hardware store, gas, etc.
I don't take the jeep out for the weekly 'night out' though at the pub. I think it's a rather dangerous rig to drive after a few beers.

Since '88, they have been daily drivers 90% of the time. I've had a couple of econoboxes over the years that I commuted with for a short time, but the primary DD's are FSJ.

I just traded my daily driver 91 Isuzu amigo for a 89 Grand with a 4" lift, ARB lockers front and rear, and 33" BFG At's so am pretty happy now to have only two FSJs and nothing else. I know the gas is a killer but hey, you only live once.

I drive the J10 exclusively now. Probably why I don't go as many places as I used to. Haha..
I use my nice J10 as a daily driver in the summers and I just picked up a rusty Wagoneer to use in the winters, so I'm now "full time FSJ "

Ive been driving mine since i got it as my first car. The friend who gave it to me encouraged me to use it as a learning experience and fix it myself like he and his friends did when they were kids with their cars. its now 3 years later, and driving better than when i got it with credit to his encouragement to work on it. I have never given it to the mechanic except for inspection, and have driven nothing but this 88 GW for over 60,000 miles. i love my GW :D

When I started driving I drove my blue one for 2 years strait except the every now and then week off for fixing. But for the last year everytime I was fixing the blue one I had the camo one to drive.
In Jan I ripped the blue one apart to fix all the rust, more rust then Jeep, and started driving the camo till the tranny went out. Tranny is fixed, but old age is getting to the rest of the camo one so I don't let it leave the mountain.:(
I should be painting the Blue Jeep in a month so I'll be back to driving a fsj for everyday driver.
Why did gas prices go down when I stopped driving them? Now they are going back up. ARG!!!

I have my 1990 Grand Wagoneer, which is my daily driver and our long trip wagon. I also have a J10 that I will be using what is left of my J20 to make road worthy. Both have 6.2 Diesels.
My wife has a Jetta TDI (No Gasoline here!)

Its been about 7 years for me now and my two FSJ's have taken me all over the place. It started with an 82 which ran like a dream. I had this notion then that I would buy a second one and begin the process of restoring it so I purchased the 89. Then my 82 was stolen! Anyway I had another so I used it as my daily driver.
Anyway they have taken me all over the place. the 82 actually had a nicer ride and no starting headache areas. The 89 the carb is giving me fits now so its off the TBI land. But between the two of them I have been all over the place trouble free. Neither one has ever left me stranded. I took the 82 on a trip from Was D.C. all the way to Florida and back with no headaches. The only thing that has ever suffered when I used these rigs for daily driving is my wallet :( (Gas prices!)

I didn't think I was driving mine daily, then a friend stoped over last night leaned up against my corolla and asked if I was starting to drive it again, he said he always sees my 82 J20 parked at my work.

Up until last September I'd been driving FSJ's exclusively for a several years:drivin: . I thought I was going to be starting a new job requiring a 100+ mile daily commute so I opted to buy a new nissan sentra for gpm reasons. MISTAKE! The job fell thru and I have spent the last 6 months making payments for the car, etc out of my retirement. (:banghead: age and wisdom are not necessarily what employers are looking for anymore). Well I'm starting a new (lower paying) job and career just 10 blocks from my home this week. How I wish I had exclusively FSJ's and no car payment again!:fsj:

My Waggy is now officially my daily driver, though occasionally I do put the CJ through the daily commute.

My 88 GW was my DD from July 95 to late 2002 when we got a Subaru to save fuel costs. The Jeep still takes me to work at least a couple times a month.

Got mine in aug 2000 and been DD from septmeber 2000 till late feb of this year when the tranny went and i got a ferd 4X4 for work and parked the jeep for some needed service. Towed lots of trailers with it from houston to tulsa and lots of dead trail rigs out with it too so i have not babyed it at all.
