Well I officially belong to the “Tailgate Problems Club”. What I need to know is where can I get a replacement for the channels that the glass slides in on the sides. I reached into my tailgate last night and noticed that I only have one side attached! The other side is fine (for now) but the passenger side is completely rusted away.
Once I get the part, how do I get the sucker back on?
Thanks for the help…

Call Brent at BJ's Offroad. He has them in stock. Excellent quality and price. Here is the link to his site: http://bjsoffroad.com
Once you have the new channels, you will see how they attach. There are 2 screws that are on the outside of the gate that thread into the tracks.

Are you talking about the ones inside the gate? I've gotten real good at it, trying to adjust mine until I gave up and bought new ones from BJ.
You just need a big phillips scewdriver. Take off the carpet padding and opening the access panel might be necessary, but after getting good at it I was able to hold the track in place from the opening the window goes out through, while I tightened/loosened the screws on the side of the tailgate. All this was easier with the glass out. And mine might have been easier to do through the opening because I didn't have any rubberseals where the window goes thru.
Get them now, BJ's has them on sale this month, just checked yesterday.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. smile.gif Sure are pretty. I had no idea that there was supposed to be felt INSIDE the tracks.

Ok, I have been ignoring my rear window for a while now, maybe it is time to go after the probs.
Besides the side channels, what would someone recommend replacing while I was in there?
The window goes up slowly but won't make it the final 3-4 inches without help. And I was told the glass may not be the correct thickness (too thin) but have never confirmed that either way.

I removed a lot of leaves while I was in there! tongue.gif And zip tied up the wires that were dangling and getting caught on things, but give them enough slack to go up and down with the window.

Got mine from windrockoffroad.com. Go to "replacement parts". They have parts explosions you can click on. Very helpful staff, too.

My lower channel was rusted out so I replaced it with one from the dealer. I didn't know about Brad at that time. I would have saved $20 just on the part.
