what all prep should i do to the motor to make sure she starts up

I think that if the motors been buttoned up all this time, a year sitting should'nt be a problem. Just change the oil, get some good gas, then pull all the plugs and turn the motor over several times with the key. Oh, when you do the oil change, fill the filter as much as you can, so the system pressures up that split second faster. LOL:thumbsup:

year aint nothing. check the fluids, put in a fresh battery, give the carb a shot of starting fluid or a 1/4 cup of gas and start'er up :drivin:

hand cranking the engine once might help free up anything and tell you if anything is seized up
Mine had not been fired in over that long.
Only mistake I made was trusting that it was in Park, it was in Reverse and started anyway.
Do not remember his name but I am still a bit sorry about that guy's fence :)

i just swapped a motor that sat for about a year in my jeep...
altho i swapped intake and carb off the motor i just pulled and it started just fine!;)
