Wow, those look real cool. Somebody did a real good job. How were those made?
Love the idea! I made a set out of diamond plate when I couldn't find faux vent covers.
The only constructive criticism I would add is that a more vintage font might have matched the Rhino grill better.

not bad at all!
paint the backsides too,and put 'em in backwards so it is readable in peoples' rearview mirror.

they were cnc laser cut. I had a buddy do it on his computer/cnc. I chose this font to blend the old with the new. Ill add more farther off pics when I get my round headlights in this week.

I like them, they look good. You could prolly sell a few sets of those around here, maybe put a post in the vendor's section

I believe those holes were originally for lights, not a vent. I think jeep deleted the lights around 1964 and covered the holes.

Looks cool! I think it'd also look cool with an AMC logo, the old Jeep logo like on Rhino Grilles or the lettering on the tailgates on the J series, but I still like your version.

I do believe that the prototypes had lights in them, but no production FSJ had them. Except the turn signals that came on some trucks with the factory plow package.

got a further back pic?
We definitely need to see a picture taken a little further back. Maybe one that shows both covers at the same time.

I like them, I think maybe you should take this idea a bit further and toy with different jeep/fsj logos, or even put some slots in em to make them sorta look like the originals. Anyway, they look good to me.

big companies get a bit touchy about copyrights and such, so i would would not be advertising to sell them unless very discretely and with a lawyer in my back pocket.that being said .NICE JOB.

Those look great. Now you need to put a bulb behind them to backlight them at night :D . It would be a rolling jeep-o-lantern. I'd like to see a cnc version with the amc logo for one side and jeep for the other. Thanks for the post.

thanks, guys, No Im not going to sell any, I had to pay to have them made, myself. I do like the recommendation of the AMC logo on one and the Jeep on the other. Also, I think Im going to put some orange turn signals in behind them to show at night.....:fsj:

When you come up behind someone, don't get too close, that Bumper looks like it would give you a little love tap, push you out of the way, and then move on down the road like nothing happened! Your Jeep looks great.

That looks really good! I'd definitely put some sort of light behind each one for that extra bit of effect.;)
Excellent idea & execution!!!

What bumper is that one?
bumper is a homemade special, a buddy built the hoop/brushguard. we call the bumper the "cow killer"
front end before....
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e305/troopermc/FRANKTHETANK001.jpg
front end after I painted the grille mount/radiator support to match the Jeep, and added the "cow killer" bumper, and CJ headlight conversion with the Gladiator grille. White Rhino Fabrication made up the Jeep vent covers and the hoop/brushguard combo....
