With the ignition off there is a drain of about 4amps. When the push in connector is removed from the alternator the drain stops. That would mean that the diodes in the atlernator are bad right? Thanks to everyone for the help with my rear axle bearing problem. The new bearing made all the difference in the world.
Thanks

You can remove the alternator and take it down to a place that repairs/sells/rebuilds alternators (Autozone or O'Reilly's) or such and they will test for free.
Probably an internal path from the diode to ground somewhere inside the alternator.

Replaced the alternator and now the battery drain is down to .012amps. Problem Solved
Thanks for your help
