Pretty stoked, just bought a 78 Wagoneer....401, TH400, QT, even came with a backup QT and tailgate. No rust whatsoever, that I can find (except the tailgate but got the spare). Hat's off to Roger the PO, this wagon has an impecable history. The original AM/FM radio and 8 track even work, clear as a bell.

This is my first SJ and 3rd Jeep. 2 CJ's and a Cherokee.

Here are some pics.....

BTW, anyone know where I can score an a/c compressor?

Welcome aboard, looks like ya done good!
Check the for sale section for rigs being parted or put a request in the wanted section for a compressor.;)

DAYUM! Nice rig. Like that color too, and the painted black egg-crate grille.

Don't know if it's the same or not  but I have a compressor on a 304 from a CJ7. Look at the pics. It's cheap but the shipping may be a bit since I'm in Michigan. I don't know that it works but it turns freely and feels like it has compression. I don't need it so if you're interested it's here. :D

That is one of the most beautiful Wagoneers I have ever seen! Perfect color combo, the blacked out grille, the woodgrain strip, the five slots. Perfect! The only thing I'd prefer on it would be a T-18 and D20. Nice score. Welcome aboard.

Thanks guys, I feel pretty lucky to find this gem. I've already got a to do list for her:

- GM/Howell TBI
- rebuilt steering shaft (and some other stuff to tighten up the steering)
- get the a/c working (I'd do this before anything with the summers we have in Georgia)
- the basic weather stripping throughout

and alot of TLC to "unstick" all the doors and windows. The tailgate window is the only one that works...kinda weird.

qtrac82, thanks for the offer...I'll look into it to see if it works

BMahoney is going to come and pick her up tonight. I will be sad to see her go but know that she is going to be well taken care of and will get some great new features! I know I will find another FSJ that I just have to have somewhere down the line....maybe a nice J Truck :)
