Hey Fellas,
I got my Grand Wagoneer back on the road today. I took a few days off of work to install a BJ's 4" lift. It took me about 18 hours of work. Not bad, considering I was working by myself with only hand tools (I wish I had an impact wrench). All in all, the install went well. The "magic nut" stayed welded to the the frame, so I didn't even have to drop the gas tank. All I have left to do is to install the extended brake lines. The originals are usable as is, I just can't flex the new springs until I get the longer lines installed. The lift made a night & day difference in the way the Wagoneer looks. The old springs were so bad that I got a full 7" of lift out of the 4" lift springs. I'll have to measure again after the new springs are broken in. For now, I'm running stock size tires. But, a set of 31" x 10.5's will go on when these are due for replacement. Here are the before and after pics...

Even witht the stock tires, I think it looks great. What do you guys think?

You should put the new brake lines on, then put it on some rocks.

Looks good John. It will look even better once you get the tires.

I agree Al. I always thought the Wagoneer was too low. Now, it's gone from 4x4 station wagon, to a full grown truck. Much better!

Do you have any driveshaft angle issues? I want to install a lift also not sure of a 2 or 4 inch lift.

There aren't any driveshaft issues. From what I understand the springs come with angle shims in the spring pack that correct pinion angle.

I've only driven the wagoneer once since I installed the lift, but I didn't notice any drive shaft problems what so ever. However, I did remove the wedges that came installed on the rear springs. They clocked my axle back too far to accomidate the track bar relocation. After I removed the wedges, I was able to reconnect the track bar (with the relocation bracket) and the old drive shaft seems to be OK, for now anyway.

Looks perfect at that height. Tires and wheels look good too. You can still get away with a stock type tire with that lift. Any higher and a more aggressive tire would be needed to complete the look.
