I just got a new GPS and it is taking me through the back roads of Georgia.
I come up on an old 60s F100 for sale. So I stop to look. The owner tells me he has a willys for sale in the back. I take a look. Wow! Nice! Original winch on the front is huge! He says he got it started. He tells me it's a 1946. So I look at the glove box plate and it says stationwagon. He then says someone might like to buy it for parts but this is a definate resto project. It has been sitting a while. not full of holes/rust. Most of the trim except the rear left back is missing. Bright yellow paint under dull green repaint. I didn't have my camera but i'll take some pics and post when I get a chance.

You probably found an old Willys Panel wagon. Little hurricaine engine in it, 4wd. Pto winch. I found 4 for 2000 here, passed on it because I'm a FSJ guy ;). average price for a wreck/project one averages around 500, you can buy anyones project one for 1000-3000 all day long done. Only 'rare' model was the 2WD ones with round radius rear wheel wells. (not an expert, but I researched em when I found that above deal and decided to not get into 'em)

They ALL had round rear wheel wells, till mid'50,when the grill&dash changed. The panels&parkways&traveller ALL had round wheel wells till the end,in'65.First year for the wagon was'46,but they were ALL 2wd till'49 when 4wd was available. If it has a winch,it would be a 4wd.Look if it has the pointed grill&front fenders,or flat.Theflat being the earlier model, with round wheelwells. Also the earlier model will have a square instrament cluster. There was also a station sedan,'48-'50,I have a'49,those were a little fancier.Sounds like a good find!

I don't want to offend anyone but that post gave me a CRUSHING headache so I added some grammatical stuff to make it a little easier on the noggin'. Still has some fragments but it is a little easier to read now.
I can't wait to see pictures of this Willy's! I LOVE the stationwagons or the panel delivery. Does it look like a delapidated version of this rig?

anyone know the year? or what this is worth $
Looks OK, up here in the rust belt it would be considered mint. But it's probably a 56 instead of 46.
Willys changed to this grill style in 1950 and had 5 horizontal bars on the grill, in 1953 Kaiser bought out Willys and dropped the number of cross bars to 3. So it's newer than a 53.
Looks like a Ramsey PTO winch.
If you can get it cheap go for it.

One piece windshield and flat roof make it a least a '58, and I think the "hockey stick" side trim makes it at least a '60.
What engine does it have?

The low profile, ribbed roof &one piece windshield&rear window suposedly makes it a'60,but I've heard of '59's like that,&'60's with 2-piece glass.I've heard of miss-matched glass,High roofs with one piece....ect.(it IS a Jeep)If it has the super hurricane flathead six,it would be a'60-early'63,If it has the OHC tornado,It's a late'63-'65.It could also have a hurricane F-head 4 also.It should have a 12 volt electrical system,a BIG plus!the winch makes it worth twice as much,by the looks of it,going by the plate on the glovebox door,it was once owned by a government or municipal agency. It looks restorable to me,it would be a big project, big very worth while.

I am always amazed by how much knowledge you folks have about the various year models and details of these old rigs! I get an education and entertained all at the same time..

That's the 226 cid 'super hurricane'Kaiser/continental 6.That motor was also used in Kaiser cars,Oliver tractors,Checker taxis,Grahm-Paige cars,hi-lows,air compressors, the list goes on!So it looks like a'60-'63,formerly owned by uncle Sam!

I like how the important stuff (the radio) is mounted in front of the driver and the guage(s) are in the center.

With that motor in that truck with the gearing being what it is you could probably pull a freight train. Vast whorehouse of torque there.

Might be possibily an old US Forest Service rig, from the color. Good candidate for a resto if you have the time and $$

there's a Willys wagon for sale close to home...back off the road, you can barely see the "for sale" sign. i always want to stop and ask how much he wants for it. i'm bringing home another car in a few weeks and i don't think i can get away with having four vehicles.
i told my dad about the wagon and he says "you don't want one of those, they ride like ****." apparently he forgets that i have a J20 and a Wrangler already, and that driving something that rides like **** is something that i'm used to. :D
