i am curious. i was wondering what a full size jeep would look like with no roof rack and the stamped in "grooves"in the roof filled in.any body tried this? i was also thinking it might not be the smartest idea since the bondo might pop out due to body flex.any input much appreciated .

I personally would not use bondo, it could come loose and it would add weight up high. The groves actually add strength and regidity to the vehicle, a smooth flat panel is weaker. You could possibly use fiberglass i suppose but why even do it? Just my .02 cents.

i guess because it is a jeep and its a sin to leave it stock. grooves would still be there just smoothed out is all .

Mine has the roof rack removed and holes were welded before paint, it looks awesome. If you wanted the roof totaly smooth couldnt you just weld on some flat sheetmetal the same size as the roof? Keep the strength and smooth out...just a thought.

Yeah that bondo filler would pop off in the first five minutes of driving. The roof still flexes even with the ribbing. Also--especially with the lifted rigs--any extra weight up there doesn't seem like a good idea, as you might tip over and spill your beer.

I dont have mine but my parts jeep has one. Let me see if it comes off well and if it does I will let you know.
And keep the top light-no beer spillage..
