Found a local add for a guy who is parting out a 75 J-truck, but he doesn't really know much about it. Before I go check it out, I have a few questions.

What trannys were available?

I assume D44 front and back unless it is a 3/4 or 1 ton?

Anyone need anything specific and I can look for it? Thanks.

Joel

The most common setup would be a GM TH400 (automatic) and Quadratrac. Other transmissions would be the T15 3-speed manual (least common) or the T18 4-speed manual. If it's a manual trans model, someone will want the whole setup - bellhousing, trans, txfr case, clutch linkage, pedals.

There's a short and long WB 1/2 ton (J10), and a long WB 3/4 ton (J20). The J20 will have a D60 rear, and has three (?) different GVW packages.

Here's a quick rundown of the VINs

J = Jeep
5 = '75
A,F,M = automatic, 3 & 4 speed
25,45,46 = SWB 1/2T, LWB 1/2T, LWB 3/4T
M,P,S,Y = 6025 GVW (J10), 6800, 7600, 8400 (all J20)
A,N,P,Z = 258 I6, 360 2V, 360 4V, 401
(6 digit SN)

Ok, for example, a J5F45MNxxxxxx would be a '75 J10 LWB, T15, 360 2V, 6800 GVW.

I need fenders, but you're too far away. In the NE, it's body parts, sp. rust-free front fenders and the flares in the bed. If the whole bed is good, someone will want it, otherwise rear flares, rear quarter panels, tailgate, rear taillights.
