View Full Version : BEST WAY TO REMOVE TRIM AND WOOD TO FIX FENDER??

I've got to rust spots below wood on front and rear fender of GW. What's best way to remove trim and wood. Also where can I get just enough wood to fix 2 fenders???????

I had the same problem last summer with my front fenders, so I took the woodgrain off and got new ones at www.stripeman.com (http://www.stripeman.com) it's likely 'marine teak' 3M Dinoc Vinyl Woodgrain....you can use a hair dryer or a heat gun...the moulding should come off fine with heat, as well as the woodgrain...but it'll leave a sticky adheasive residue that you will need something like 3M adheasive remover to clear off. Just recently I decided to remove it altoghther...d/t rust on my 88...
