With a block lift in the rear do you need to take your springs off or not?

No... just carefully lower the rear axle. Insert blocks, raise axle. Tighten new ubolts.

dont worry. i just want to get some that are 2 inches because rear leafs are pretty good still but front are horrible. So i might just put new 2 inch leafs in front and blocks in rear. Sound good? Or should i quit being a tight Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley and just save up a couple hundred more and buy all 4 leaf springs.

I would say the blocks are fine with a 2 inch lift. If you were getting a 4" lift then yeah maybe all new springs there but even then its not that big of a deal for the rear. The trouble starts with big, tall blocks and stacking lift blocks. If you stay 4" or less you will be fine.

Just how FINE you will be depends on how much you mash on the go-pedal. ;)

My Cherokee HAD 4" blocks in it w/an SOA up front. The blocks had a tendancy to move and almost spit out.

IIRC ... http://www.TTSFABWORKS.com makes an SOA kit for 76-87 J-10/J-20 Longbeds. NO BLOCKS! :D

Yes. I know alot of folks run blocks and body lifts and have had zero issues, but both of those options just scare the snot out of this girl.
