Dodged a bullet this weekend. I've had one of those 10'x20' canope things you see advertized with cars and boats underneath, well with our No'Easter snowstorm it colapsed ! The J-10 has been parked underneath it since last August. Last weekend, I started it, and pulled it out! If it was still under there, the canope would have done some major damage to my aluminum camper shell, and maybe the truck itself!

You sure did dodge it!
I've wondered about those vehicle shelters. They sure ask enough money for them too.

That's a lucky break. Would have been nasty if the truck had been under there. This last snow we had was pretty heavy. This is a good reminder for people to shovel off thier roofs.

My Dear Son had one of those once -- looked like a decent enough thing for non-snow country. Unfortunately, he hadn't quite got around to installing the grond tie-downs (after a year), and it plumb disappeared in a windstorm. Never did figure out where it went.

There's a gent down the road that bought one for his '69 Mach1 Mustang. The shelter collapsed onto the car about 3 yrs ago and hasn't been touched since. The 'Stang was Cherry to say the least:(

I've thought about getting 4 of them and ganging them together for a cheap 4 car shelter, but we have occasional strong winds, which could turn them into kites, plus they would look trashy. One is ok. Several looks bad.
A neighbor had 2 ganged together and a strong wind yanked the stakes out of the ground and carried it across his property. Fortunately, a large tree stopped it before getting to his neighbors yard.
I think for the price of those, you can spend a little more and do a pole shed with metal roofing and siding.

my neighbors have had one for 2 years with no problems. They sell for like 200 bucks with walls at the Cummings Tool Sale that comes through twice a year..I dunno, I prefer wood with lag bolts :) We dont get much snow BUT we get alot of microbursts (60-80mph wind gusts) this time of year..
