that about says it all. i treated the wag to a healthier battery from a parts bmw. i even put a piece of preheater duct on the airhorn. what does the waggy do? 132k is all you get from a caliper, me bye. i'm just relieved the burnt smell isnt coming from the trans :D im gonna sort thru my parts, if i have one ,i'll use it. if not, any clues what a rebuild will run me?

I paid $12.99 at Parts City for a caliper that included new mounting bolts and bleeder valve. I don't think it had pads, though.

Last time i looked, autozone was like $30, and advance auto was $15 (i'm not sure if that was w or w/o core return.
don't bother w a rebuild kit at these prices

Andy, just curious, but why would you want a stuck caliper? Wouldn't one that worked be better?? :D

Couldn't resist!! :D

$25.43 for a rebuilt caliper, pads, a qt of dot 3 and a can of brake cleaner. one stop shopping at a-zone. btw, i did some prep work, i got the p/#s from their on line catalog and called ahead. even so the kid on the counter tried to sell me xj parts. i used a caliper from my parts wag for a core. i have a suspicion its just a hosed up slide bushing, but for that kinda money, why monkey around?
