When I tell the parts store folks that I need something for a '69 Wag with a 350 Buick engine, I get a lot of strange looks and we no gots. You guys with the neat books, what year and model Buick can I buy parts for that will fit the Wag and not baffle the parts people.

Like motor mounts...Ask for jeep and you will get the deer in the headlights look. But, if you ask for a mid 70's buick car 350 motor mount they can probably almost reach it on the shelf. They are the exact same thing. You would think with todays tech we would be able to have a small window showing cross references on their screen. I have a 69 so I have done it. There are several performance shops that do buick. Poston, TA performance, Kenne Belle, to name a few. Everything is out there. You just have to find it. Do some searches online. Your basic parts should be able to be found at most parts stores that are willing to look. Performance stuff, try the above mentioned shops. Good luck, don't give up it's all out there......Kaiserjeeps...(Al)..

Don't worry, by the time you are done, you will know the parts counter so well that they will know exactly what you are talking about. :D
I usually tell them it is the same as an early 70's Buick LeSabre. So far that has seemed to work.
Now I don't have to tell them anything, they know what to look for without me saying anything.
I did notice that the water pump shaft is longer for the Buick Skylark (that's what I tell them) than the stock FSJ Buick, might just be a different model but those are things to watch out for.
