I have to say, I have found heaven for my FSJ on this site...I hope I can become as skilled in FSJ care as all of you in the years to come. Well on to my question: At times I have to drive with the rear window down (moving lumber) and get quite fumagated with exhaust. How can I keep these fumes from being sucked back through the rear window? I have a 82 cherokee chief
Thanks to all who put this site together and keep it running

you cant. about the best you can do is to have the exhaust dump out along the side of the rig, near the back corner. and keep your windows open in the front to "pressurize" the passenger compartment.

Isn't that what the deflector wing on the roof is for? It's angled down to push air downward and force the exhaust down and away from the window just for such "exhausting" predicaments! http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

No, the air deflector is made to blow a stream of air down the rear window, keeping it clean & free of dust/dirt/green jello.

Starting to get off topic here but, Does a rear deflector really keep the rear winddow clear? My 84 doesn't have one. I can get one from the salvage yard, but is it worth it?
Sorry for being off topic, my exhaust also comes in the rear.

Mine "had" the deflector but was ripped off by a Hickory tree. When it rained I noticed that I didn't get all that road dirt on the window and that when I went down my muddy roads it didn't get as dirty.
