i say yes. why not use the 208 adapter to put another one there. The 205 is a heavy mother by itself and to have that much weight hanging behind the tranny couldn't be good during heavy romps and sudden jumps. I'll be having 2 in mine.

details, what type of metal, dimensions and wall thickness, it looks plenty beefy but if the wall thickness is thin it could cause problems

Its 4" channel 1/4" thick. Im not so much worried about the 208 as i am the 205, but the summner addapter is 3/4" thick plate that bolts the 205 to the adapter with 6-3/8" gr8 bolts. Thanks for the input:thumbsup:

depends how hard you wheel.
should be ok though. i ran a 2x2" .120 xmember , bent the crap out of it but it held.
It looks like you cut/notched one of the legs of the "C" channel for clearance.
If you did, all you have for for strength in those areas is a 1/4" angle.
That might not hold up.
Adding a second X-member behind the trans would help, just don't notch it too.

I didnt like the idea that it might be enough, I apreciate the input, and agree with all of you i think i was just trying to talk myself into being happy with it. So here is some updated pics, and the tube is 2x3" 160 wall tube

Would rather no anchor?
With the notch, the original would've bent at the notch after going down a good drop off. You did good reinforcing it. I may have made the new brace a little shorter from end to end, and made the bottom edge rounded to slide over rocks easier, but there's nothing wrong with what you have now. Just make sure the mounts on each end will not come loose when a hard object hits the Xmember. You don't want the ends to be your weakest link and let the tranny/tcase drop.
