View Full Version : My fun weekend

The weather was nice, no weekend committments, I got ahold of a good tow vehicle and trailer, and some spare cash, and drove over 600 miles to retrieve some tools, personal belongings, and my '79 Chero I had stored in a contractor's yard (for free) for the last 4 years. I posted this a year ago becasue the property was up for sale, but they pulled it off the market, so I got a reprieve.

Anyway, it took a good hour to clear away all the crap around it and cut down the 2 saplings around it. We cut away what was left of the cover and aired up one flat tire. I dumped fresh oil in and added fuel stabilizer before it was parked, so I lucked out as far as the gas goes. After priming the carb a few times, then manually filling the fuel line with gas, it fired up and continued to run (It had a fresh rebuilt carb before storage), but idled badly, although it ran enough to drive it onto the trailer.

My only regret is forgetting to take the camera:( , but I got a pic from 2 years back, before the trees sprung up. I'll find it tonight.

Anyway, I got back late last night around 10, after stopping at a coin-op wash to blast off 4 years of crud, leaves, snails, and deteriorated tarp to lessen the shock from the neighbors and spouse.:D

I'll get pics tonight. Last night was too dark.

Nope, that's my '75. A stop sign runner did a number to the front end a year and a half ago. I still have it and it now only needs a straight frame to revive it.

BTW, I tried to attach pics using the manage atttachments and I couldn't get it to work. I need to tutor myself I guess, or just go to Photobucket.

Those darn pics can be tricky. When I first tried posting mine it took me like 2 hours

PICS!

Pic from 2 summers ago. Since then, the tarp rotted way and 2 trees grew on each side. The vines you see on the driver side also grew and found their way into an open window. There was also more junk added in front, including a discarded jacuzzi tub:eek:

You should have brought it home dirty and posted pictures of your wife in shock. I'm not sure any of us can accomplish that anymore.
