I have one small area on the steering wheel that did not adhere well. I will do it again on Sat. We finally had a 65 temperature day after cold weather for an extended time. I just sat the wheel on the column to see it installed. I was also able to paint the shifter and steering column. What a pain doing it at this stage. I also was able to dye the armrests black and get them installed.

I have bought parts from you that are on it. I guess it is too late to ask for the discount. :) The last items I got from you were the inside door sweeps. I did ask for a sticker, but none were in the box. I guess you knew at the time there was not any glass in it or that the truck was not up to your standards to display your logo.

When my truck sleeps, it dreams about being just like Holt's.

That is gorgeous. Looks great!

I wish I could take all the credit for the Truck. I have had plenty of help on the tough stuff. I have one more big push coming up.
Intall Gas Tank, plumb the gas lines, Install brake lines, Some Misc. Wiring, Brackets for the rear tail lights, and then make her run.

I had a guy call me to see if I wanted to sell the truck at Camp Jeep and what kind of price I would need. I told him, I doubted that I would let it go before I get to use it for a season or two for a trip to the IHOP for Sat Breakfast. I did think if I was to sell it, that would be a great venue for someone with more money than brains that might show up.

I am waiting for my Granddaughters (5 months old now) to get old enough to go for a cruise with me. That may be a few years.

I'm always interested in seeing the progress on your truck. It's truly an inspiration. I hope to do the resto on my '67 with the same attention to detail and quality. Keep up the good work!

Thanks. I cheated on the J10. I bought a truck that needed very little to begin with. I wasn't so lucky on the '67. But I guess I needed a project. I can't wait to get started on it. Right now my garage is too full.

You know Holt, everytime I read about your progress, it costs me money because of the great inspiration you give me on my trucks. Knock it off, the wife is getting upset. But then she says how come your truck don't look like that. Thanks bud.

Ha! Not up to our standards, yeah right! Truth is that we've been out of stickers for a long time. Brent had a few more made up, but I think those were gone quickly.

I like the M715, it has the Mad Max look about it. What are you doing letting your wife know about any money you spend. I keep telling mine that someone is returning something I sold on Ebay when the packages show up. :) I know she knows better, but she lets me think I am too smart for her, right where she wants me. My wife use to catch a lot of
S--t for my garage and toys. She tells the other pain in the asses, it is a great way to keep track of where I am at all times. Plus everyone once in a while I give her a $100 explaining that I made money on the motorcycle I sold (even if I went in the hole). I always say I am just trading dollars from one project to another.

WOW! And btw, what kinda dye did you use for that armrest? Curious as I have some parts to do in a different color as well, and used Sem's paint on my Dash pad for the J ...

I cleaned it with a paint solvent, used a fine grit sand paper to hit it very lightly, primer (let it seal and dry good) then a paint can bomb with several light coats. Do it on a day 65+, make sure the wheel and paint are set outside and allow it to be the same temperature as the outside air you are shooting in. If the paint has any problem issues, prep the problem area again with a cleaner and start over with the primer. At least this is what I have done in the past with good results. (Never done on an everyday driver, but the spray bombs are cheap.)

This product is very temperature sensitive. It does a good job. Make sure the surface is clean, no Armour All etc... Repeated light coats, allow it to dry in between coats and let it sit in the sun all day before you handle it.
I think this product is more of a semi gloss that a gloss like I really wanted. Good Luck!!!

That product works really well. I used it on my door panels. However, I had the same results as you. The finish is a little more dull then I had hoped for.

I wish I had the time, talent, brains, know-how, patience, funding, space, tools, parts, and understanding to do such a project. What a great looking vehicle.
