Got dumped on this weekend at home, about 6 inches of snow, then rain and snow off and on all weekend. Power went out about 3am Monday morning, woke up to 11" of snow, no power, no phone. Thankfully we heat with wood.
Couldn't call in to work (didn't want to leave wife at home with neither power or phone, her Sable would NEVER make it out if she had the need) and cell doesn't work at home, so wife & I climbed into the wag, bombed out of the driveway and about 3 miles toward town to where I can get a cell signal. Turned on the cell and battery was dead:( Went another mile to the general store, pay phone there was dead and no power either. Turned around and went back home. Wag didn't miss a beat plowing through & across the ruts on the road and back into my drive.
Still didn't have power this morning and had another 4-5" of snow. Phone was working again so I went to work. Here's a pic in the parking lot after a 25 mile commute:

Wife called an hour after I got to work & power is back on (for now).
I am SO thankful for the Jeep, couldn't live where I do without it

Wait... you got only 16 inches in 4-5 days and are saying you got dumped on?!? You need to come out here, where that's just a flurry! LOL :D
You may want to clear off the top of the Wag... you're really top heavy that way. Also may be illegal to drive with that amount of snow, due to the top heavy issue but also because you may destroy the car behind you when it all flies off... hehe, surprise!

Haha, well, we don't get snow like this here, usually. I spent a winter in Maine, so I know the kind of snow you're talking about. Did get the snow off, just wanted to "show off" at work this morning. Just talked to my wife and we have about 24" now and it's still snowing. My little town was on the local news this morning because of the snow. Believe me, this is a "dumping" for us. Hopefully it won't last long, I'm losing trees and limbs left & right, luckily nothing on the house.

25 mile commute? Are you able to watch the gas gauge move? Also, did you try the part for Uncle Jesse in the Duke of Hazzard Movie?

1. Gas gauge doesn't really move much off full until it's about half empty. Gas gauge is the odometer :)
2. Yeah, but they said I looked like too much of a redneck:p
