I am working on an 82 Wagon that I picked up for $50. I am putting a fresh 360 and Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holley Pro-Jection unit on it. I want a slightly larger cam also(214 and 226 duration at.50). My main question is; Has anybody used the Rusty's 6 inch lift? If so how about some feedback? Or any other recomendations! I want at least 35 inch tires because I am surrounded by back country trails and Moab is 1.5 hours away!

The rear uses 4" springs with 2" blocks, so the back isnt so stiff,, it still has pretty good flex. 6" alone wont let you have 35's without some trimming in back. The fender openings are just to small.

I have the kit and rub with 33's. I put on a 2 in body lift and will do a little trimming to fit 35's. I just don't have them yet.

I'm only running 31s right now, but shooting for 37s once I get my gear ratio lowered. The width of the tire is most important for fitting inside the stock wheelwells. I've been told that 35x10.50 BFGs fit with a 4" and no trimming, but if you want 35x12.50s or 35x15.50s or something similar, you're going to have to cut some sheet metal with a 4". Supposedly they fit fine with th 6", but if you have problems, you can always trim a little of the fender away. Don't worry about it, it's easy to do. You can see some pics of my waggy that has this done at:

It's Heimeken's website, but I was wheeling with him that day so there's some pics of mine too. Also check out rusty's website under the "rusty's rigs" link. No. 19 I think is a guy with 37s and the 6" with fender trimming.

rselina: 35x10.50's will not fit on a NT wag or cherokee with only a 4". They will fit on a J-Truck or WT cherokee with a 4" lift though.

Here is my rig, I ran rusty's 6" lift with WT axles and Revolvers up front. I'm rig 19 on Rusty's website. The 37's fit perfect with this setup. To fit 35's on a NT you will need to seriously cut fenders or add a body lift and then trim fenders. Also on a NT you will have to adjust the steering stops so your larger tires don't hit the leaf springs.

First of all I've never even heard of a 35x10.5x15, I've heard of 33x10.5x15. I did come across a website where a guy had a Grand with Rusty's 6" lift with 35" Xterrains on 8" wheels with only mild rear fender trimming(you could hardly even tell) and he had pictures of the tires stuffed pretty good and they seemed to fit. I think it was called Tex-Rok Engineering. He makes custom bumpers and rocker guards. Actually the rocker Guards looked pretty good.
