i have had decent luck with the autolite remans that checker sells. limited life time, 50 bucks (+ core). they aren't great, but when it dies i take it in and exchange it for free.

I would go with the NAPA starter

I vote NAPA. They usually have good stuff and frequently are able to give you a choice of quality and warranty. Their alternators are the best quality, so I would assume starters are as well.

I personally hate napa parts and won't go there for anything. I think you've got the newer style starter right? That sucks cause the older one I got at autozone for like $32 with a lifetime warranty...

If your gonna spend $270 get a Titon high performance starter. Other than that go with the Checker lifetime. I'm kinda lucky I have a place here called Start Mart and they'll rebuild a starter or alternator with 3 yr warranty for $35. For an extra $18 they'll warranty it for life. I went and had 2 rebuilt, one in the GW running and a spare in the trail box.

I just replaced my checker starter I bought 5 years ago -- free. I have a lifetime warranty. I don't know about the quality but it seems to have done alright. I like lifetime warranties!
