Need help figuring out the seal on the factor sunroof on 81 LTD. I was able to get the seal for the front and the sides from the Dodge dealer for a whopping $123. They however did not show a seal for the back piece. Any one have knowledge in these? Can a sunroof place fix the leak? I have a vinyl roof by the way. Thanks in advance.
By the way, I got all of my exterior window seals for $15 ea new at the dealer. Fixed rattle and now no rain goes down in the door. Easy to replace as well.

I just purchased this seal too for my Wag. I do not think that there is a rear seal, since the window has to go backwards (I could be wrong though).

Did the dealership give you any hints on how to install the sucker though? I am not sure what to stick it on with...

No, however I went to ACE and looked for an industrial strength, waterproof, contact cement and carefully applied it. Keep in mind that the seal is fabric and the opening is vinyl. There is a rear seal, it is just like the front, the original is in place now, just cant find a replacement.

Anyone know of a decent after market sunroof for a mid '80's Gwag?

Try this...it's for an older J-series, but can't for the life of me think why it wouldn't fit just about anything...

well it looks great! i just hope it fits between the valleys(for lack of other name to call them) on the roof. if not, any idea how i can plug upthe voids crated by adding the sunroof? perhaps some creative siliconing, or sheetmetal w/rubber weatherstipping??

That's exactly what I'm pondering myself; I plan on putting it into my 74 Cherokee. The little valleys I'm not sure of.

Why don't you go ahead and do it and in a month or so (of repeated drive-thru carwashing) tell me what works and what doesn't... :D

Actually, I'd probably use the windsheld install adhesive; get the appropriate size roll; 5/16" or 3/8" and place small strips in the valleys. Probably work like a charm!

funny, the only time I ever took my jeep to a shop was to get the windows tinted and to get a 17"x35" pop-up sunroof installed. (I do better w/ jobs involving a HAMMER, heh heh) They used marine sealant to fill the voids. No leaks, I'm very happy w/ the setup.
