Full Sizers!
On my 83 G/W, anyone have part numbers for the TFI Complete upgrade?
And, any horror stories on installation?
Thanks in advance,

I did this on my 85. Very easy to do...and fun. The only problem I had was when the 3rd lead from the ford coil plug grounded out. Aparently it's a lead for a tach. Me being completely vehicle iliterate and even more ford iliterate I had no idea. It took me a few minutes of scratching my head and cursing the name of ford (daily occurance) before I realized what happened. Tie that puppy up or use it
Day to day experiences that drive newbies like me insane.

Hey folks, something that I found kinda impotent!!!
I do not have access to the new pigtail in my small town. So to the salvage yard I went. I soon discovered that I was waisting time looking for one on Ford Trucks. The coil was mounted on the engine like on a FSJ (and when they JERK an engine, the pigtail goes too).....But not to worry.....Rangers and Bronco IIs have the coil mounted on the side of the engine compartment.
So save yourself some time......just look for the Rangers and Bronco IIs. When I went I bought 3 for future upgrades on the heard...think I paid $1.50 for each of them........
my $0.02......

An update.....FYI couldn't find the Motormite/Conductite #85121 Pigtail anywhere..apparently it has been discontinued. Neither Advance, Pep Boys, nor Auto-Zone could find it....no longer available is what the parts monkeys said. Went next door to the Ford Dealer.....had a Curtis Industries #31082 Ignition Coil Pigtail on the shelf for $13.79. :D Made me a happy camper. (same coil was used on my old 88 Taurus, [I just happened to have one in my garage] so ask them to look up an 88 Taurus w/3.8l and walla.....you have a coil.

Hey guys,
I did this conversion about 4 months ago. I also used irbob's site to the letter. Man, it took less than an hour and there were immediate improvements to power and acceleration and throttle response.
When I was buyiung parts, I was also told the pig tail was being discontinued. I got the last one off the shelf at our local Pep Boys, after stopping three other places first.

I got the pig tail still on the coil with bracket for $10 at the bone yard of a station wagon.

Green Giant,
Thanks for the heads up on the pigtail, I have been looking forever for one and actually need 2. I did the TFI to my scrambler but was putting off doing my cherokee because I couldn't find that part.

Instead of the pigtail, I just used some little female wire connectors that fit the coil plugs nicely. Just solder 'em up onto your existing coil wires after cutting the old horseshoe connector, and you're GTG....
