Hey, I am making a run from Richmond to Greensboro on Friday. No great rush to get there as long as I make it sometime that night. I was curious if there are any hidden FSJ gold mines along the way. Anyone know of any good spots?
(And why dont we have a tread or something on good hunting grounds for our rigs?)

Other than CAP and CAR in richmond...I havn't found much else. I have looked quite abit in southern VA...Lawrenceville, emporia etc for 60s etc....but slim pickins down that way...at least so far:D

There are quite afew junk yards with FSJ's in portsmouth, I haven't been out there in awhile. There are a few fsj at the pick and pull near Oceana in VB. I just pulled an axcel shaft out of one in portsmouth so I know they have a few. I will look online later and try to get the names of them for you anything specific you are looking for?

Thanks nosaJ, I will have to plan a weekend run East. On Friday I am headed South West over to Greenboro, NC. Hoping to find stuff in that general direction. I would like to know the names and locations of yards down there that might have good stuff. I would guess most bodies are rusted out down there..it seems that most of the ones here are.
I would like to find some side trim from the older rigs, something that had the thin wood, or evn better, a super wag.. I am also casually looking for a a front valence that will accept round headlights, etc. Not really in need, just like lookin around when time allows.

Tanker, please do send your number. If I can get out of work early enough on Friday, I might push to get out your way. If not, I can always plan for another time. This is a monthly trek for me..

Here is the name and address of one but as you can see from the picture it is next to 3 others. One of these has quite a few older rigs (10-15) and may have what you are looking for.

I am calling a few guys I know and asking them where they have been recently, I was just at the pick and pull near Oceana and they have an 83-84 and then a 89-90 there, Almost had a rear cargo cover from one but it got nabbed along with a nice tailgate. I will be heading back there this weekend if there is anything you want me to check for on these let me know.

Marsh Auto Parts in Siler City, NC. They have Grand Wagoneers at their "big truck yard". I have been there twice and dealt with Steve Marsh. He is a good guy, but I think he has gotten rid of most of his older rigs. Give him a call and he will tell you what he has currently.
