finally got a chance to get some pictures of the cherokee im buying. there a litte dark, but they came out ok anyways. the hood and the quarter panel are the only two rust spots on the whole truck except for some little specks here and there.

Nice - same wheels as I have; different grill though! You say you're going to restore the Jeep - will you strip it down completely and re-build it from the ground up? If so, I'd love to see a thread of that.

You might want to take a small magnet to the black "skirt" at the bottom to make sure it isn't hiding any sins.....

well, as for a ground up resto, its not gonna happen right away, cuase this is gonna be a daily driver for a while. but the great thing is that it just needs a little bondo, and new paint. then the interior has to be redone. as far as engine and drivetrain, its solid as a rock. its been a florida vehicle all its life, so the rust is almost a non problem.its mostly going to be cosmetic fixes. this is my first car older than 91, so its gonna be a lot of learn as i go, or asking for help as i go. but i will get more pics up when i get it over here from my gf's moms house. then i can really go over it with a fine tooth comb for what all has to be done. heres a link to some more pics of it. including the rear quater panel rust.

A lot of times when you see that little skirt paintjob/bedliner it means the PO is trying to hide some bondo. Always check for rot under skirts...:p :rolleyes:

when i told my dad i wanted to fix it up, he asked what kind of dubs i was gonna put on it. i had to tell him that i loved the slots that are on it already, and would never change them. they give it the 70's flair and toughness. as far as the black trim hiding body cancer, i doubt it, cuase this is essentially my girlfreind selling me this truck, and i dont think she would keep that from me. allthough it took me writing down the vin # and showing her the decoder on here for her to believe me when i told her they didnt make a jeep "grand" cherokee until early 90's. ive been driving her crazy talking about this jeep. i cannot wait till my taxes come back and i can go pay for it so i can drive it home. cuase i wanna get started on tearing it apart. btw, anyone in citrus county florida wanna buy a pos ford aerostar?.
